How Do I Update My BIOS?
 

Note about flashing your BIOS: BIOS updates are written in order to correct specific issues within a BIOS. If the BIOS update you have downloaded does not describe a fix for a specific problem you are having, then updating the BIOS will more than likely have no effect on your system. While updating your BIOS, if you experience a power outage while flashing your BIOS, improperly flash your BIOS, or flash the wrong file into your BIOS, you can irreparably damage your motherboard.

 

To update the BIOS of motherboard Model numbers P4M800, MK8-939A, and P4MSD-800 You will need only to download the BIOS version found on the model specification page. then follow these instructions:

(1) Save the BIOS file to a floppy disk.
(2) Restart the computer.
(3) Press DELETE a few times while the computer is booting up, this should take you into CMOS setup.
(4) Choose "Upgrade BIOS" from the main menu.
(5) Follow the onscreen instructions.
(6) After the flashing is done, allow the computer to reboot itself.
(7) After the computer reboots, go back into CMOS setup again by pressing DELETE
(8) Load optimized default settings, then Save & Exit.
